Alison Archer is a litigation lawyer with a focus on commercial litigation and health law matters, who is appreciated by her clients for her analytical and creative approaches to their issues and her steadfast determination to resolve their disputes.

In her commercial litigation practice, Alison primarily focuses on construction litigation, shareholders' disputes, partnership disputes and complex contractual disputes. She has an extensive construction litigation and arbitration experience, which includes major capital and infrastructure projects in various industries across Alberta. She assists owners, contractors and sub-contractors and has broad experience with builder's lien matters, construction bonds (performance, bid, and labour and materials bonds) and disputes that arise in the course of construction, such as scope changes and schedule changes.

Alison also represents individuals and corporations in a wide variety of commercial litigation matters involving mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate and commercial leasing, land development, fraud, restrictive covenants and products liability.

Alison's health law practice has an emphasis on representing and advising clients in medical malpractice litigation and professional complaints, including civil litigation and hospital and College complaints.

Alison has appeared before the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal, administrative bodies and in various alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including arbitration, mediation and judicial dispute resolution. In addition to advocating for her clients before the courts and arbitral tribunals, Alison is regularly consulted to provide strategic advice to clients where disputes may be on the horizon.

Being an active member of the legal and local community, Alison has been an instructor at a seminar for the Legal Education Society of Alberta. She is also a member of the Bennett Jones Edmonton student recruitment committee, responsible for recruiting summer and articling students. She is a former long-standing director of Kids Up Front (Edmonton), a local charitable organization that provides access to arts, sports and entertainment events for children and youth.

Alison is functionally fluent in spoken and written French.
