Justin Duguay operates a litigation practice focused on complex commercial disputes. He has experience in breach of contract cases, shareholders' rights disputes, fraud-related matters and internal investigations of whistleblower complaints.
Justin represents Canadian and foreign clients across a broad range of industries, including energy (oil, gas, power and renewables), construction, financial services, transportation and technology. He has represented clients before all levels of courts in Alberta, as well as the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan and the Quebec Court of Appeal. Justin has acted as lead counsel on multiple successful Appeals generating important reported cases from Alberta's highest court, including successfully arguing for double costs in novel circumstances. Justin is also experienced in alternate dispute resolution methods, such as mediations and pre-trial conferences and in negotiating and advising on dispute settlements.
In the legal community, Justin is a member of the Calgary Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association, The Advocate's Society and the Association des juristes d'expression française de l'Alberta.
Justin joined Bennett Jones as an articling student in 2018, and is fluent in French.
