Benjamin Reingold practices in all areas of intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent litigation for clients in pharmaceutical, oil and gas and other science-based industries. Ben has significant experience litigating cases under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations, as well as complex patent disputes with concurrent litigation in Canada and abroad. He has acted on leading cases regarding damages quantification and the jurisdiction of the Federal Court.
Before joining Bennett Jones, Ben practiced at a boutique IP law firm and with a global law firm.
In law school, Ben was on the Dean’s List and won the Fox Cup as a member of the best team at the 2012 Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot. He also was a quarterfinalist at the Oxford International IP Moot.
Prior to attending law school, Ben earned degrees in biology and cell biology, with some of his graduate research published in the Journal of Endocrinology. He is a member of the Advocates' Society and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
