Suzie regularly drafts and negotiates commercial agreements relating to technology, privacy, cybersecurity and intellectual property (such as SaaS, co-development, licensing, transfer and data sharing agreements). She also provides support on technology-related transactions, and assists clients prepare for and respond to data security incidents.
Prior to attending law school, Suzie obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical and biomedical engineering. During her engineering studies, Suzie designed and implemented an EEG monitor and artificial intelligence software aimed at detecting seizures. While in law school, Suzie's area of concentration was intellectual property, information and technology law.
Suzie has previous work experience as corporate/commercial counsel for one of North America's largest power generators and as an associate at a national intellectual property law firm. Before joining Bennett Jones, Suzie practised technology law at an international law firm. She is also licensed as a Canadian trademark agent.
