Radha Curpen speaks with Canadian Lawyer about how boards of directors’ attitudes toward matters of ESG have changed over the years, moving from a concern focused on potential liability to sustainability.

She says that, “Now boards are looking at the question of sustainability, not only for the world in general but for the business itself. It’s about future-proofing your business and keeping it sustainable.” Radha also talks about the importance of setting ESG objectives that can be verified and tracking them, why companies and their boards are increasingly going to be held accountable for all the commitments they make, and why ESG is so dynamic. “(ESG) is evolving. And it is very much about tailoring it to the organization, what industry they’re in, and where it is located.”

Radha will be one of the speakers at Canadian Lawyer’s ESG Summit on October 12.
