Shaan Tolani carries on a general litigation practice with an emphasis on corporate and commercial disputes, securities litigation and financial crime. Shaan also focuses on evolving laws and regulations related to digital assets.
In his practice, Shaan has helped act for and advise aggrieved companies, directors, officers, founders, shareholders and creditors, among other stakeholders. He has assisted with internal and regulatory investigations, inquiries by securities regulators (including the OSC and BCSC) and matters before all levels of Court in Ontario, extra-provincial Courts and the Supreme Court of Canada.
At law school, Shaan and his team received awards for their oral and written advocacy in the areas of corporate/securities litigation and criminal/constitutional law.
Prior to joining Bennett Jones as an associate, Shaan summered and articled with the firm. Shaan is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the Advocates' Society. He is also a registered notary public.
