Annie has a general corporate and commercial law practice with a focus on commercial transactions, banking and secured lending transactions and corporate finance.
Annie routinely assists clients on domestic and cross-border debt financing, acquisition financing, project financing, debt restructuring, private equity transactions and other complex commercial lending arrangements in addition to a wide range of commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, asset and share purchase transactions and corporate reorganizations.
She helps clients assess, evaluate and maintain their company organization, tax structures and legal compliance and negotiate and prepare documentation for contracts, agreements and financing transactions of all types. When advising clients on complex corporate and commercial law issues, Annie seeks to understand her clients' businesses, operational and strategic objectives and business and legal risks.
While attending the University of Alberta, Annie worked as a Writing Fellow for the Legal Research and Writing Program at the Faculty of Law and as a Research Assistant. During law school, she was also a volunteer caseworker for Student Legal Services' Criminal Law Project and Co-Director of Law Show. Annie was awarded the Juris Radze Memorial Prize, Dale Masson Memorial Award in Law, Roger S. Smith Undergraduate Student Research Award in the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Law Undergraduate Scholarship. She graduated law school with distinction after maintaining First Class Standing and being named to the Dean's List.
Before joining Bennett Jones as an associate, Annie summered and articled with the firm.
