Ethan's practice includes various aspects of international trade and investment law, including advising clients on matters of Canadian customs law, trade remedies (anti-dumping/countervailing duty, safeguard and retaliatory measures), free trade and investment protection agreements, import-export compliance, Canadian export controls and economic sanctions, foreign corrupt practices, Canadian product regulatory and labelling and other legal issues affecting cross-border trade.
Ethan represents clients in a variety of trade-related venues, including trade verifications, trade remedy disputes and appeals of customs valuation, tariff classification and origin decisions by the Canada Border Services Agency. Ethan has litigated matters before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) and the Canadian federal courts, as well as in front of international investment arbitration panels.
Prior to becoming an associate at Bennett Jones, Ethan articled with the firm.
