Mia Laity is a passionate advocate who enjoys analyzing cases and using her experience on both sides of the bar to provide the best advice to her clients.
Mia is an experienced litigator who regularly appears in BC Supreme Court, and has both non-jury and jury trial experience. Mia's litigation practice is focused on corporate/commercial litigation, construction disputes, and class actions. Mia also has experience with professional liability, environmental and regulatory law, securities litigation and enforcement, and bankruptcy/insolvency litigation.
Mia Laity currently sits as the Chairperson of the CBA-BC Insolvency Section and is the British Columbia Representative of the National CBA Insolvency Group. Mia is also the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association – BC's Product Liability and Insurance Law Section and a member of the Vancouver Bar Association.
Mia enjoys volunteering for charitable causes. She is involved with the West Coast Legal Education and Action Fund, a legal organization working to advance gender equality through the law, including having served on its board for eight years, and chairing or co-chairing the annual Equality Breakfast for five years.
Mia is the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association – BC's Product Liability and Insurance Law Section and a member of the Vancouver Bar Association.
