Kaamil Khalfan is a strategic litigator with a sophisticated commercial litigation practice, focused on bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring, fraud and asset recovery and construction and energy matters. Known for his rigorous analytical approach, Kaamil advises clients through complex legal challenges with a clear focus on achieving their business objectives.
While completing his MBA and law degrees in Canada and the United States, Kaamil completed research on the intersection between intellectual property law and entrepreneurship, assisted with teaching business agreements and tax law and volunteered at a non-profit trademark clinic. He also completed a judicial internship at the 35th District Court of Michigan.
Kaamil's academic excellence has been recognized through several awards, including the Torkin Manes LLP Award and the Eugene and Mary Anne Gargaro Endowed Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement and community service. He was also awarded the Book Award in Advanced Advocacy for top performance in the course and graduated with the second-highest academic standing in his law school year.
An active contributor to legal scholarship, Kaamil regularly publishes on insolvency law, including contributions to the Annual Review of Insolvency Law and Insolvency Institute of Canada.
