Russell's practice focuses on complex legal research and preparation of written argument at the appellate and trial levels. He has considerable expertise in providing advice on a wide variety of complicated issues, with particular experience in providing strategic support to major litigation files. Russell is regularly involved in disputes relating to breach of contract, energy, construction, arbitration and other corporate and commercial matters.
Russell completed his LLB (with distinction) at the University of Calgary where he was awarded the William A. McGillivray Gold Medal in Law for the highest academic standing in his graduating class. Prior to attending law school, Russell completed his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science (with distinction) degrees in Computer Science at the University of Calgary, where he was awarded the Governor General's Silver Medal for the highest academic standing across all university faculties at the undergraduate level. Previously, Russell received the Governor General's Bronze Medal for achieving the highest academic standing at the secondary level.
